Leak Proof Coffee Tumbler

!±8± Leak Proof Coffee Tumbler

Are you tired of drinking cold coffee out of your leaky coffee tumbler? For years I suffered with my stainless steel coffee tumbler that leaked every time that I tipped it over-which happened every time that I used it. I tried just about every brand. While the nissan/thermos kept my coffee warm, it was not leak proof. It seemed like my desk and car were always wet with spilled coffee. My pants always had coffee stains on them.

Last winter, my friend asked me if I had tried the Contigo stainless coffee tumbler.  I told her that I had never seen or heard of it.  I bought two of them was so impressed, that I bought two more as back ups and for friends.

What is so incredible about these coffee tumblers is that they are guaranteed to be leak proof with their Auto Seal technology.  I often carry one in my back pack upside and to this day, I have never had a spill.

To drink from the tumbler you hold down a button on the side of the lid. The only thing I had to get used to was letting the tiny amount of liquid that would gather at the mouth opening divot drain before releasing the button, otherwise it flicks it up into your face!  The reason this happens is because the tumbler is vacuum sealed.  when released quickly, it erupts like an open pressure cooker.  My only complaint about the Contigo is that the coffee is too hot to drink immediately.   I open the lid many times to cool it off. How can you top that?  I mean, we want want hot coffee, right?

My wife is a total klutz when it comes to drinking and carrying a coffee tumbler.  She used to carry coffee in her purse!  I solved that problem with the Contigo.  My wife is also very forgetful.  I would make coffee for both of us first thing in the morning and she would not get around to drinking it for 3 or 4 hours.  Surprisingly, the Contigo coffee tumbler keeps hers warm.

Contigo makes these tumblers in silver, blue, and red.  If possible, stay away from the red and blue if you are very active and take your coffee tumbler everywhere you go because the paint will eventually chip away.  It's too bad Contigo does not hard anodize the color to make it permanent.

Coffee Tumblers - Why You Can't Live Without One

!±8± Coffee Tumblers - Why You Can't Live Without One

Some people, like me, cannot begin the day without coffee.

If your day basically starts with your commute to work, then taking your coffee with you in the car is a likely option, particularly if you have a coffee mug designed for this purpose. Coffee mugs which are used in cars are often shaped to be more stable, with a wider bottom, or they are designed to fit neatly into the drink tray of a car.

Take-out coffee cups are also designed to fit into your car's drink tray, and, hopefully, the cup comes with an insulting extra layer, so you don't risk burning yourself.

Additionally, you should have a lid properly placed on any coffee cup which will ride with you in your car, since a sudden move could force the liquid to overflow.

Most people prefer to drink their coffee hot, or at least warm, so if your commute is rather long, you might choose to take your coffee in an insulated mug or thermos, which will not let your coffee get cold. Many insulated mugs are built to be very sturdy, and have special mouth pieces, just in case they are dropped. These are often called tumblers precisely for that reason. The good news is that if you drop a coffee tumbler, and you have closed the lid correctly, you will not spill hot coffee on yourself or on your car seat. And probably save yourself thousands in insurance and hospital bills

Insulated travel mugs and thermoses can also be used to keep drinks cold. On scalding days, when you're stuck in a traffic jam, it is a real relief to take sip of a cold drink. Also, the temperature inside a vehicle can rise to be dangerously high if the car is parked in the sunshine. A thermos or insulated mug will keep your water or cool drink at a refreshing temperature.

One of the advantages of a well designed travel mug, is that they are often lined with a non-slip surface, so that the cup does not slip out of your hand or out of the cup holder. Some particularly well designed liquid containers are very stable, with a weighted bottom, and some other features like ergonomic handles and mouth pieces. While you are driving, always use only a coffee mug or cup which is appropriate for this purpose. This way, you will protect yourself and your vehicle, and avoid accidents.

Can A Travel Mug Keep Coffee Hot All Day Long?

!±8± Can A Travel Mug Keep Coffee Hot All Day Long?

A high quality travel mug is something that not everybody opts to spend their money on. Everyone tends to have one or two basic travel mugs sitting around the house and if they are anything like me they probably cycle through new cheap tumblers all the time. Sometimes a cheap mug is lost, sometimes it's phased out because it isn't comfortable to use, a lot of the time however it is replaced by a "better" cheap coffee mug which is better able to keep coffee hot longer and stop leaks and drips from happening.

The simple fact of the matter is that almost all of these cheap coffee mugs work the same. They have thin insulation and cheap lids. Some of these lids are better capable of stopping leaks and spills than others but generally speaking they are all similar. If you want a good mug that will not leak air or liquid then you have to pay a little more money. Similarly if you want a mug that is capable of keeping your drinks hot for five hours or more you have to branch out of the to range products and pay a little more. There are coffee mugs which will keep your coffee hot all day long; they are not as rare as you might think.

One of the best travel mugs is actually a thermos brand mug. Thermos has been around for many years and has built a great reputation and for good reason. The top of the line thermos mugs are designed with thick thermal insulation in their mugs side walls and bottoms so that your drink can actually stay hot for an incredibly long period of time. When the insulation is thin then heat is able to transfer through the walls and escape so having high quality thick insulation is important. You can usually feel this insulation in the weight of the mug so if you are shopping for something blindly you could do worse than to look for a heavy mug with thick walls.

The other main thing to look for in a high end coffee mugs are to look for lids that seal tightly and is heavily insulated. Thermos lids have long been designed for thermal insulation and leak resistance as many of their products deal with food and liquid. The best lids are almost always capable of being taken apart for more thorough cleaning too because as any coffee drinker knows coffee grime can build up in lids. This grime can both be dirty but can also degrade the seal and allow hot air and liquid to leak out. If you want a coffee mug to keep temperature for five hours or more then these little leaks have to be minimized and buying a mug with a better lid is one way to do just that.

Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler - It's Not Just for Coffee Anymore

!±8± Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler - It's Not Just for Coffee Anymore

As a coffee drinker it is always hard to find that perfect coffee mug that keeps your coffee at just the right temperature. If you have ever used a stainless steel coffee tumbler then you probably noticed that it can keep your coffee hot for several hours. This is the great thing about these types of containers; the insulation keeps your drink either hot or cold for hours on end. So whether you live in a cold or hot part of the world a stainless steel coffee thermos can still be a good investment. Why is it a good investment? Well for the most part because coffee is not the only thing that you have to use it for. There are other things that a stainless steel tumbler can be used for.

Tumblers for Tea

If you are a regular tea drinker then a tumbler is a perfect solution if you want to commute with your tea. It can easily be kept hot during your trip to school or work. It is a perfect remedy for both students and business people. Another great thing that this is good for is tea parties. If you are expected to take tea to a party then your friends will love you if you show up with hot tea. You will never have to worry about drinking cold tea again.

Tumblers for Soup

Another good thing that a coffee tumbler is good for is hot soup. This is especially good if you make it a habit to take your own food to work. So whether you work in an office or in an outside environment, a stainless steel coffee tumbler will help keep your lunch warm. You do not need a microwave anymore and if you don't have one at your job then you don't have to be concerned about eating cold soup anymore. Now you can enjoy it as if it was recently cooked.

Final Thoughts on Coffee Tumblers

As you can see, if you want a warm cup of coffee throughout the day then a quality thermos is a good investment to make. So whether you are a student commuting to school or a worker going to work, a thermos will help keep your coffee, tea, or soup hot for a long time. If you happen to need your beverage heated up always remember that there are also specially made thermos' that are microwave safe.

Stainless Steel Coffee Thermos - Great for Cold Beverages As Well

!±8± Stainless Steel Coffee Thermos - Great for Cold Beverages As Well

A stainless steel coffee thermos is often seen as a good way to keep your coffee hot for hours on end. Little do people know that this is not the only thing that a thermos is good for. I mean sure, a thermos will keep your coffee hot for several hours and this is especially good for people that commute to school or work. However, did you know that it can be used for cold beverages also? Some of the things that it can be used for are lemonade, sports drinks, and even pasta salads.

Thermos for Lemonade

One of the things that a thermos can be used for is cold lemonade. Nothing is much worse than drinking hot lemonade on a typical hot summer day. The good thing is that a thermos is designed to store the original temperature of the drink for a longer period of time. In other words if you want your drink ice cold then a thermos will keep it colder for a much longer time than any other type of container or bottle.

A thermos is also a good idea to give to your kids if they sell lemonade during the summer. Sometimes kids will try to raise money during the summer so they sell lemonade in their neighborhood. What could be better for business than a freezing cup of lemonade poured from a thermos?

Thermos for Sports Drinks

Every gym rat knows that nothing motivates you more than a cold sip of your favorite sports drink. Water bottles are great but the only problem is that they only keep your sports drink cold for a while. A stainless steel coffee thermos will knock your socks off by keeping your drink cold through out your entire training session at the gym. Now you will be able to concentrate more on your training because you will know that you have a nice cold drink waiting for you as soon as you're done.

Thermos for Pasta Salad

The last thing that may come to mind is that a thermos can be good for food. If you have never used a thermos for food then you are missing out because just like liquid beverages, a thermos can keep your food cold or hot. Pasta salad is a good example because this food needs to be at just the right temperature in order to be enjoyed. Pasta salad is a perfect solution for lunch and now you can enjoy it a lot more if you take it in a thermos and not in a plastic container.
